I helped ZSuite Technologies Inc. redesign their flagship product, ZRent, and develop their new product, ZDeposit. I defined, built, and refined their design system, front-end development, and white-labeling capabilities for partner banks.

Description
ZSuite Technologies Inc., A digital escrow sub-accounting solution to grow commercial deposits.
Design Process
I championed a user-centered design process, conveying that user problems are the top priority in all my design decisions. I held weekly design reviews with the team and key stakeholders to gather feedback and share updates.
ZRent Case Study
Problem
The original ZRent experience urgently needed a redesign, lacking basic UX best practices. This led to high drop-off rates during onboarding, and users frequently complained about the frustrating experience. Tenants struggled with payments, and landlords found it difficult to navigate property issues due to the poor UX design.
Analysis
I collaborated with my team to identify design gaps, scalability issues, and any other UX improvements that could be made to the previous ZRent experience.
I worked closely with engineering to develop the front-end pages and structure the white-labeling process.
I interviewed landlords, property managers, and tenants to uncover overlooked pain points, gather feature requests, and collect feedback.
Solution
I redesigned the onboarding experience to reduce user burden by deferring property additions until after initial product entry. The dashboard now features an action carousel to highlight key property management tasks, along with a side panel for quick access to actions throughout the user journey. I also simplified the tenant experience by breaking down onboarding and payment scheduling into easy, digestible steps to minimize errors.
Landlords and property managers needed a simple way to open security deposit accounts online for multiple tenants and units, avoiding repeated trips to the bank.
Analysis
I worked closely with my team to analyze the problem in depth. I explored user pain points, compliance requirements, legal constraints, and necessary documentation.
I interviewed current ZRent users to gather insights and ensure the user journey was empathetic and effectively addressed their needs.
Solution
I designed an experience that guided users through an easy-to-fill form to open security deposit accounts for all their properties on ZRent, incorporating compliance requirements and legal constraints for funding, interest payments, and account closures.
Results
66% of users who started an application, completed and funded the account within 30 days.
Reduced the number of dormant security deposit accounts by 45%.
Reduced onboarding time for new partnering banks by 50%.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at LeaderBank, which owned ZRent before it became an independent entity. Working alongside the President of Leaderbank Jay Tuli and his talented team on both ZSuite and other banking products was an incredibly rewarding experience. My contributions to the design of ZSuite's flagship products, ZRent and ZDeposit, which today have partnered with 62 financial institutions and process over $230M annually. Seeing the growth and impact of these products has been a truly gratifying part of my career.
